Candlelight & Ice: A bright light for the community
Residents and visitors are invited to Candlelight and Ice, a beloved community tradition at Richfield's Wood Lake Nature Center. Attendees can enjoy a New Year's Eve luminary walk, snow art, games, a storybook trail, food truck and more. This popular event draws upward of 2,000 residents to enjoy the park on December 31. Attendees are advised that this year tickets will only be available ahead of time. No tickets will be available for sale at the door on the day of the event.read more

Legal Aid Kiosks Expand Access to Free Legal Help Throughout Minnesota
Richfield is excited to announce they have partnered with the Minnesota Legal Service Coalition, a provider of justice to low-income people throughout Minnesota, to help bridge the digital divide members of our community face. The city now has a kiosk available to provide free legal services to the community. With this technology, anyone can attend a Zoom court hearing, print, scan and submit legal documents for free and get online legal advice and connections to legal services using a dedicated system at no cost.read more

Emilia Gonzalez Avalos receives the Edwina Garcia Community Builder Award
At Tuesday's city council meeting, Richfield resident Emilia Gonzalez Avalos was presented with the Edwina Garcia Community Builder Award, in recognition of her outstanding work supporting both her local community and the global community. The city council created the Edwina Garcia Community Builder Award in 2020 to annually recognize a resident who personifies the community's core values and demonstrates outstanding leadership that makes Richfield a better place to live, learn, work and play.read more
