What is Penn Fest?
Sometimes, Penn Avenue in Richfield is fairly quiet, and sometimes it's bumper-to-bumper with cars, but neither will be the case on Sunday, September 15 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. That's when Open Streets at Penn Fest happens. On that day, Penn Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic and cars will be replaced with fun activities like music, dancing, crafts, sports, kids entertainment and more! People are welcome to ride bicycles or stroll down the avenue to enjoy the street without motorized vehicles to contend with. Businesses along Penn Avenue will be showcased and will be a part of the fun! The event is one mile in length and attractions are spread out along the entire stretch of Penn Ave., creating an active and entertaining environment for all.

MICC IndePENNdence 5K      Registration & Information
Join in on the second-annual IndePENNdence 5K in conjunction with Open Streets at Penn Fest! The IndePENNdence 5K will kick off Penn Fest with a flat and fast, USATF certified run down the middle of Penn Avenue while hundreds of vendors and spectators cheer the runners on. After the race, participants will have the chance to explore the various vendor tents, craft stalls, and food trucks.

One of MICC’s priorities is to provide participants with education and opportunities for a healthy lifestyle. The IndePENNdence 5K is a perfect chance for MICC’s participants and the Richfield community to join together in exercise that is fun, unique, and accepting of each person’s ability. We hope you join the fun.
