City of Richfield launches podcast
Richfield’s city government is always looking for new ways to communicate with residents. The newest communication tactic employed by the city is the creation of a weekly podcast, entitled That’s Rich(field).
The city’s podcast will expound on the many projects, programs and people making a difference in the community.
“We are always looking for unique and innovative ways to spread the word about the great things going on in Richfield,” explained Acting City Manager Pam Dmytrenko. “There is a podcast out there for everyone. We hope residents enjoy and learn something new by listening to our podcast.”
The first two episodes of the That’s Rich(field) podcast are now available.
During the first episode, Mayor Pat Elliott discusses growing up in Richfield, his time on the city council and his plans for the future.
In the second episode, Minnesota GreenCorps member Rachel Lindholm talks about the city’s new organics recycling program.
In the near future, the city plans on doing episodes on community policing, street reconstruction, commercial redevelopment, winter farmers market and much more.
“I cannot think of any other Minnesota city that has its own podcast,” remarked Mayor Pat Elliott. “It is a great format for diving deeper into initiatives and stories that need more explaining than a social media post or news soundbite allows.”
Residents can listen to the That’s Rich(field) podcast on iTunes, Spotify or the city’s website. If using iTunes or Spotify, just search for “Richfield” and it should come up.
