Become a Rec. League legend, sign up for softball
After spending months hunkering down inside snowstorm after snowstorm, it can be hard to get outside when spring arrives. What better excuse to get some fresh air and hang out with friends than a game of softball?
Richfield currently hosts three types of softball leagues: men’s, co-rec, and corporate. The men’s leagues vary in play levels, offering whatever level of competition residents may be looking for. Corporate leagues can be organized for a workplace, but are typically a relaxed, fun way to get outside and socialize with coworkers.
“It’s a great way to socialize and be active while enjoying Minnesota summers,” said Recreation Supervisor Nick Thompson. “Remember, summers only last so long here!”
League play is in the evenings Monday through Thursday beginning April 22 and runs through mid-to-late July, for most leagues.
The co-rec league plays on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and allows for a two to one, male to female, ratio as opposed to the typical equal numbers of men and women.
Last year, 75 teams participated in the city’s various softball leagues, but there is plenty of room for more teams if residents and businesses are interested in signing up.
League registrations are now open for the 2019 season.

We hope to see you on the fields this spring!
