Help set priorities for federal housing funds in Richfield

Hennepin County wants your feedback!

Post Date:10/09/2019 1:25 PM
Each year, Hennepin County receives around $6 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for suburban housing and development projects and services.

To guide the use of these funds, Hennepin County works with cities, residents, and other partners to set goals and priorities for affordable housing and community development in suburban communities as part of a five-year action plan. These priorities also help shape broader affordable housing efforts by the county and partner cities.

Understanding your personal experiences and priorities will help inform how federal funds are invested in housing and community development activities and services in your community. The next five-year plan, also known as the “Consolidated Plan” is now under development and there are several ways Richfield residents can provide feedback:

  1. Attend a listening session. Each listening session will include an overview of the five-year plan, presentation of data and trends, small group discussions followed by a goals and priorities ranking activity. The listening session being held closest to Richfield will be on Monday, October 28th at Southdale Library, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Register online at: Register now.
  2. Complete a short survey: You can also provide input through a quick and easy online survey. It takes less than five minutes to complete. Take the survey now
  3. Email feedback: You can also email feedback on your housing experience and priorities to housing@hennepin.us
