Richfield Community Gardens (5844 28th Ave) SITE PLAN

Dear Community Gardeners,

We hope you had a prosperous gardening season. This letter is to notify you that there will be no community gardens offered by the City of Richfield in 2018. The City of Minneapolis is resurfacing 28th avenue, which borders the gardens, and it will be difficult to prepare the gardens and service them under those conditions.

We are going to take the year to evaluate our community garden program. There have been increasing costs, problems of theft, vandalism and other issues for us to consider.

You may consult the Gardening Matters website to locate another potential gardening site. See them at https://www.gardeningmatters.org/find-garden.

It has been a pleasure to see all of the hard work that has gone into creating beautiful vegetables and flowers over the years, but it has been difficult to insure that all of your hard work would pay off due to incidents of theft and vandalism.

If you have any questions please call me at 612-861-9366

--------
