Do you have your renewal notice?

Are you paying by Check?

If you answer yes to any of those questions, drop off your renewal in our locked water bills drop box (located on the left side of the entrance in the Richfield Municipal Center). This can be done at anytime of the day or night!

The City of Richfield Motor Vehicle Office will have a drop box available for vehicle registration renewals for those with their renewal notice and paying by check. All information must be filled out to process the renewal (instructions located on the drop box). The box will be emptied daily and pickup available at 12:00 p.m. on the following business day. A signature is required for pickup. If you would like the registration stickers returned via mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Please contact Richfield Motor Vehicle Licensing for any questions.

Motor Vehicle License Registration and Title Transactions

Insurance information must be provided at the time of registration renewal, title transfer, or application for new Minnesota title/registration. We do not need to view the insurance card, but need policy number and full expiration date (mm/dd/yyyy).
(Per M.S. 169.798, subd. 4)

As of July 9, 2018, Fast Track transactions are now available for customers who need their title due to an insurance claim or moving to another state. Per Minnesota Statutes 168.325, the state must allow for title transactions to be expedited upon payment of a $20 expedited title fee when the customer needs a certificate of title sooner than DVS is capable of producing using normal procedures. The customer should receive their title within three business days.

For faster service, forms can be filled out before arriving to our office. Forms can be found at the State of Minnesota DVS Website. The most popular forms are:

DNR Transactions

  • Renewal of registration and transfer of ownership for watercraft, ATV's, and snowmobiles
  • Hunting and fishing licenses
