Preparing Children to be Home Alone

There is no magic age at which children develop the maturity and good sense needed to stay alone. Make sure your 9 to 12 year-old is ready to be home unattended. Prepare them to be alone for short periods of time, before or after school or while you run errands.  During this class, kids will make their own first-aid kits and learn basic first-aid techniques. We’ll discuss personal and home safety, internet safety, phone skills, fire safety, escape plans, what to do in severe weather, snack ideas, appropriate activities and more!  Pizza lunch will be provided.

This class is a partnership with the Richfield Police and Fire Departments, Richfield Recreation Services, Richfield Community Education and Richfield READY. Limit of 18 participants.

Please check out www.richfieldrecreation.com for upcoming classes and to register.
