Drivers Must Go ‘Hands-Free’ Aug. 1
Beginning Aug. 1, 2019 Minnesota drivers can no longer use hand-held cell phones and devices while driving. The state’s new “hands-free” law aims to prevent distracted driving and the danger it creates.
Texting, watching videos and other actions were already illegal, but the new law goes a step further. Now, drivers can’t hold a phone or device at all, even to make a call or check navigation.
