Richfield Skating School   Winter 2022 Session Flyer

Saturdays, January 22 to March 19 (no class March 5)
$100/eight-lesson session
Helmets/gloves/jacket recommended for ages 7 and younger

Richfield Skate School is back at the Richfield Ice Arena with another session of skating lessons for kids ages three and up. Registration is open for the eight-lesson session on Saturdays, January 22 to March 19 (no class March 5). Each lesson is 30 minutes, plus a 30-minute practice period. The cost of the eight-session season is $100. Skate rental is $1.50. Returning skaters: check your previous skate school evaluation form for correct placement. Register today at Deadline to register is January 20.

-Parent and Me (ages 3 & up, both participants must wear skates)
-Snowplow Sam 1 (ages 5 & up who can skate independently)
11:15 am (10:45 practice)
-Snowplow Sam 2, 3 & 4 (ages 5-7, (experienced skaters who can skate/fall without assistance)
-Hockey 1 with Sticks (ages 5 & up who have passed Snowplow Sam 4)
-Hockey 2 with Sticks (for skaters who have passed Hockey 1)

If you are unsure about what level to choose, refer to your previous skate school evaluation form or see the Learn to Skate level guide with skills learned at each level.

Open Skating
Occasionally open skating sessions may be cancelled because of special events or scheduling conflicts.  Please check the online open skating schedule.
Fees:  Single Admission: $5   10-Admission Ticket: $45       20-Admission Ticket: $75
Skate Rental: $3       Skate Sharpening: $6 (10-pack: $48)

Adult Open Hockey (18 and older)

About the Richfield Ice Arena

The Richfield Ice Arena built in 1971, has a rich regional history of serving the metro area and hosting world-class talent.  The Arena has two regulation sheets of ice, open year-round.  The arena is located five minutes from the Mall of America in Veterans Memorial Park. The park includes an outdoor pool with water slides and a zero-entry wading pool with a water playfeature, an outdoor miniature golf course, picnic shelter, large handicap accessible play feature, walking and roller blade paths.

The Arena offers skating lessons, skate rental, open skating and open hockey.  The Arena is the home rink for Richfield High School and Holy Angels High School.  The Richfield Hockey Association coordinates the youth hockey program.
