Open Skating

Winter Walking Track:
Indoor walkers are welcome during Public Skate times, typically Mon-Thurs, 12-1:30 p.m. (subject to change). It is free to walk. 
Note: To access the walking track, walkers will need to climb some stairs.

Adult Hockey

    Richfield Skate School
Richfield Ice Arena offers skate lessons for ages 3 to adult. Seasons are usually typically eight weeks of 30-minute lessons on Saturday mornings. Helmets, gloves,  and jackets recommended for ages 7 and younger. Discounted skate rental offered. Little Spartan Hockey Camp
December 2-March 23, Cost: $100
Saturdays, 9:30-10:30 am (skills/practice)
Sundays, 8:15-9:15 am (game play/practice)
No class: Dec 23 & 24, Jan 6 & 7, Feb 3 & 4, Mar 2 & 3
All boys and girls, born between 2013 and 2019, are invited to join the Little Spartan Hockey Camp at the Richfield Ice Arena.  The 12-week camp is open to all players, ages 4-11, and will be run as an in-house Mite program focused on skill development and cross-ice games. Players will be split according to skill with groups from beginner (no skating experience) to advanced.

Equipment List
•Hockey Equipment Bag; Jock or Jill for girls); shin pads; hockey socks; hockey pants; skates; shoulder pads; elbow pads; neck guard; hockey gloves; helmet w/full cage; mouth guard; jersey for practice; hockey stick 



     

About the Richfield Ice Arena

The Richfield Ice Arena built in 1971, has a rich regional history of serving the metro area and hosting world-class talent.  The Arena has two regulation sheets of ice, open year-round.  The arena is located five minutes from the Mall of America in Veterans Memorial Park. The park includes an outdoor pool with water slides and a zero-entry wading pool with a water playfeature, an outdoor miniature golf course, picnic shelter, large handicap accessible play feature, walking and roller blade paths.
The Arena offers skating lessons, skate rental, open skating and open hockey.  The Arena is the home rink for Richfield High School and Holy Angels High School.  The Richfield Hockey Association coordinates the youth hockey program.
