How do I apply to be a vendor?

What types of vendors do you accept at the Richfield Farmers Market?
Our market philosophy is around locally grown and made foods and farm products, within 200 miles of Richfield, MN. The Richfield Farmers Market at Veterans Memorial Park is for local growers and producers to sell their products. No brokers, agents or others may represent a farmer.
Resold products are considered on a limited basis, locally produced items sold by the producer will always be preferred.

We aim to offer a wide variety of items to our community, including:

 

  • Homegrown Fresh Fruits, Herbs, & Vegetables including Certified Organic
  • Homegrown Fresh Cut Flowers & Dried Plants
  • Rootstock, Shrubs, and Trees
  • Plants: Perennials, Annuals, Hanging and potted plants
  • Farm-Raised Meats, Poultry, Jerky, & Eggs
  • Dairy, including Cheeses and Butter (produced in a commercial kitchen)
  • Immediately Consumable Foods (prepared in a commercial kitchen)
  • Honey & Maple Syrup Products including those qualifying under the MN Cottage Foods Producer Exemption
  • Bread & other Bakery Goods, including those qualifying under the MN Cottage Foods Producer Exemption
  • Canned Goods (ex. Jams, Jellies, Preserves, Fruit Butters, Pickles, Picked Vegetables & Fruits, Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Chutneys, Horseradish, Salsas) including those qualifying under the MN Cottage Foods Producer Exemption
  • Spices, Rubs, & Sauces including those qualifying under the MN Cottage Foods Producer Exemption
  • Vinegars & Oil Olive Products including those qualifying under the MN Cottage Foods Producer Exemption
  • Candy & Confections including those qualifying under the MN Cottage Foods Producer Exemption
  • Dried, Dehydrated, and Roasted Products including those qualifying under the MN Cottage Foods Producer Exemption
  • Other Food Products Not Listed Here (contact us)
  • Craft/artisan vendors are allowed at the market as space allows. Food producers and other farm products will be given first priority.
  • No home party and/or consultant type of business are allowed at the market.
Are you accepting new vendors?
New vendors are welcome to apply, any time of year.
Vendors will be accepted on a rolling basis, as space allows, and if they are a good fit for the overall market.

Complete a Manage My Market profile, and then use that to apply to the Richfield Farmers Market. Your profile will keep your business information on file and you will be able to use that profile again for future seasons.

After initial approval, you will need to upload several additional items to your Licenses section to complete your application.
What paperwork do I need to apply?
To apply, you will need:
  1. W9 form
  2. ST19 form
  3. Cottage Foods certificate and/or food license numbers, if applicable to your business
  4. Workers Compensation information, if you have non-family employees
After acceptance you will need:
  1. Certificate of Liability Insurance, listing the City of Richfield, 7000 Nicollet Ave, Richfield, MN, 55423 as an additional insured party.
  2. Temporary Food License from the City of Richfield, if you are selling ready to eat foods (foods meant to be eaten on the spot, such as a sandwich or coffee.)
Do I need liability insurance to participate in the Richfield Farmers Market?
Yes, all vendors are required to carry a general liability insurance policy to participate in the Richfield Farmers Market.

Vendor insurance for most types of vendors is available through the Minnesota Farmers Market Association.
Hot food vendors can get insurance through FLIP (Food Liability Insurance Program).
Some vendors take an additional policy out through their home owner's or renter's insurance company instead.

The city of Richfield should be listed as an additional insured party on your insurance certificate. Please provide the certificate by uploading it to your Licenses section in Manage My Market.
