COVID-19 & Drinking Water

The risk COVID-19 poses to our drinking water supplies is extremely low. State and Federal regulations have stringent requirements for water treatment that prevent waterborne pathogens, such as viruses, from contaminating drinking water and wastewater. COVID-19 has been found to be particularly susceptible to the disinfection and treatment processes that are standard operating procedure at the Richfield water plant.
