Open book property assessment meetings to take place in April

The Hennepin County Assessor’s office will host virtual open book meeting sessions for taxpayers to discuss their assessments. Open Book meetings will not be hosted in physical locations or in-person.

Virtual meeting dates will be provided to taxpayers with their property’s valuation notice when it is mailed in March. The valuation notice will be accompanied by an insert providing additional information and instructions to assist taxpayers with understanding each of their appeal options. If a taxpayer would like to participate in the virtual meeting, they will need access to a computer or smartphone and call in advance to schedule a meeting time. A Microsoft Teams meeting link will be provided for the appropriate date and time. Appraisers in our office will provide additional dates and times in order to provide flexibility with the taxpayers’ schedule.

  • Tuesday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 29, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

It is important to note that taxpayers may call their assessor at any time after receiving their valuation notice, up until the County Board of Appeal and Equalization (CBAE) appointment deadline on May 21, 2021. Each valuation notice mailed includes a phone number that will direct taxpayers to the appropriate appraiser or assessor for their jurisdiction. Often, the taxpayer’s question or concern may be resolved during the phone conversation.
