Richfield DMV taking appointments for driver's license renewals
Starting Monday, February 22 we will begin taking appointments for limited driver’s license services.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor. Tim Walz signed legislation that extended the expiration date on Minnesota driver’s licenses, permits and ID cards originally expiring between March 13, 2020, and February 28, 2021, to March 31, 2021. That extension will be ending soon. Normally, the Richfield Motor Vehicle Office does not handle these transactions, but due to the extreme backlog the state is experiencing, we should be able to help most residents interested in renewing their driver’s license.
All driver’s license and passport services will require an appointment.
