(2022) Earth Day? Why not a whole week? Here in Richfield, we have more information about sustainability, conservation, and nature than we can fit into a single day. Check out Earth Week in Richfield, with several events and opportunities to celebrate our natural world, get involved, discover ways to live a greener lifestyle, and have fun along the way.

Richfield Lake Cleanup   Saturday, April 23, 9:00-11:00 am
Meet at Richfield Lake Park (6400 Dupont Ave)
The Sustainability Commission and Community Services Commission invite you to join in to help clean up Richfield Lake Park. Gloves, bags, and grabbers will be provided. Meet at the Richfield Lake playground.

Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebration  Sunday, April 24, 1:00-4:00 pm
Wood Lake Nature Center (6710 Lake Shore Drive)
Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day at Wood Lake Nature Center by planting a tree at Wood Lake. Also, help our naturalists pick up litter and remove some invasive plants.

Storybook Hike at Augsburg Park  Friday, April 22, 10:00 am-4:00 pm
Augsburg Park (7000 Nicollet Ave)
Walk your way through a story at Augsburg Park at the self-guided Earth Day Storybook Walk. Start at the Augsburg Adventure Park and wind through Augsburg Park along the paved trail (fully accessible; park at the Community Center, 7000 Nicollet Ave), reading the book, What Does It Mean to Be Green, at different stations along the way. Learn about green habits you can add to your daily life, get some exercise, and start a conversation about sustainability in honor of Earth Day.

Adopt-A-Park
Take the spirit of Earth Day and carry it throughout the year! Become a steward of Richfield’s parks as an Adopt-A-Park volunteer. We accept adopters for any of Richfield’s 22 parks; you pledge to do at least two cleanups a year. We can provide garbage bags and lend garbage pickers when you have a cleanup scheduled. To become an adopter, contact Richfield Recreation at 612-861-9395.
